Reeds Lake Triathlon

Reeds Lake Triathlon took place on September 12, 2009. This was my second triathlon and longer distance than the first one I did in May. Distances for Reeds Lake is 1/2 mile swim, 18 mile bike, and 5 mile run. My times:

5th 3rd River Bank Run

Amanda and I ran the 5k 5th 3rd River Bank run. Race started at 7:30 am sharp and we lined up in the 10:00 min mile mark. We were lucky it didn't rain on us until after we finished. Poor 25 k'ers got the rain! I am waiting for my race results, I don't think I beat my time, but we'll see.

This was a large race and the best turnout they have had. Over 16,000 people raced, about 38,000 watched (I counted them as I ran, I was bored), and 2,000 volunteers. According to WOOD TV, this is the largest 25 k races in the nation, but I think I will stick to 5k and 10ks.

Monday night Softball - We're going to the Championship!

Last night we started playoffs for our Monday night co-ed Byron Center league. The first game we won 16-9. Then we had to play Softball Addicts, a team in which we lost to by 1 run in regular season. They were an undefeated team coming into the playoffs. It was a close game throughout, 1-1, then 2-2, then 3-3. We finally made is 5-3 in the bottom of the 6th inning and had to hold them at the top of the 7th. We did, and we are off to play in the championship game next Monday.
